Run a Server on PC

Hi guys

I installed mandriva 2006. I want to make it a web server, which would just function like a server.

I have installed the all servers, mail, sql server , SSH etc.
Now whats the next step.I have zpanel, zantastico, need to install them.
How do i do it.
I have them in rar format. Is therer a way to unrar in linux ?

What is the command to install .gz files. I can see a lot of files, there is make install file also.

To install a program that you downloaded as foo.tar.gz, you'd (usually) run the following:

tar -xvzf foo.tar.gz
cd foo
./configure
make
make install

However, the program may work slightly differently: to make sure you should read the INSTALL and/or README files after you've done the first couple of commands e.g.

Code:

tar -xvzf foo.tar.gz
cd foo
less INSTALL
