Can not play multiple audio streams
Hi
i am using Mandriva 2007. The problem is that only one program can access the sound device at a time. So if for example i am listening to music i can not get sound notifications if someone messages me on IRC. This is a very irritating problem please help me oout here.

Try setting all audio outputs to ALSA in every program

thanks for the reply Juan Pablo. My audio outut is set ALSA where possible however that choice is not available in programs like firefox and aMSN so what do i do in that case.

try install alsa-oss and then run the programs as "aoss firefox"
