lost interrupts while installing mandriva 2005
Hi peoples.
I am trying to install Mandriva 2005 on my IBM netvista 18a but it takes it about 25 minutes to detect HDDs and it says hda: interrupt timed out alot...
Seems like it doesn't like the HDD controller or the mb or something...
Do I need some sort of modified installer to install on this pc or am I just gonna have to give up?
Thanks for any help!

a little more info....
When the install is run with vgalo it shows what it's doind and it says:
hda: max request size: 128KiB
hda: lost interrupt
hda: lost interrupt
hda: lost interrupt
followed by some really long one about something else that says the same thing in the end.
After about 5 minutes or so it will kinda recover and continue on with the installation. I went along with it once and got to the Hdd formatting part and it took about 2 hours (I just gave up and went and had dinner) and it got to about 95% and then totally stopped responding.
I have tried:
noapic
nolapic
dma=no
and I don't know what else now, but lots of similar things all to no avail...
PLEASE HELP!
