Can't get 3D desktop to work
Can someone please help me, I'm getting frusterated. I'm running Mandriva Powerpack 2007 and I'm trying to get the 3D desktop to work. I installed Nvidia drivers successfully, I ran XFdrake and configured it and I DO have 3D. All my 3D games work. I login to drak3d and I am able to select XGL and configure it. I click OK and I reboot. My resolution changes and everything looks sharper, but when I got into the Mandriva Control Center > Hardware > Configure 3D desktop effects and it says "Your system does not support 3D desktop effects". But, I can go into drak3d and enable/disable it but it doesn't work. I'm very confused, can someone please help? Thank you

I could be mistaken, but I believe in order to enable 3D desktop effects you need two things: XGL and a program called compiz. See if you can find it on your PowerPack discs.
