Netbeans
Are you having trouble locating the software on Sun's website or where it would be placed on your compy?
I have placed mine in a funky place cuz I have two versions of the software installed.
First you will have the "jar" application installed under your /usr/bin/ folder. This should be either the 1.4.X or 1.5.x. I have 1.5 and 1.6 cuz I decided to start off learning 6 myself. Not recommended if you want to make this easy. Place the application installer in you target directory and the rest should be up to the binary installer.
The folder where you have installed the jdk1.X.X/jre will have the runtime enviroment.
This all should be installed under /usr/lib/
make sure the jdk is installed there. jre will just run things not compile or debug.
Good luck.
