Does anybody outthere know of an e-mail application for linux (mandriva 2007) that will allow me to access http: mail natively at the moment i access hotmail via izymail but this has its own drawbacks as it changes my outgoing e-mail address to an izymail address.

Hi - I don't much about this, but I've seen the question before. I don't think Hotmail has a POP server, but a Perl script called Gotmail will non-interactively download stuff from a Hotmail account: http://linuxappfinder.com/package/gotmail
Getting that to work might be a pain if you're new to Linux. Other than that you might want to visit the SourceForge site and enter 'Hotmail' as a search there. See if that gives you any further hints.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso
