This is absolutely crazy... other times I managed to configure Internet Connection Sharing in minutes, now it just doesn't want to work. Hell, I even posted a small tutorial here ...

Connection sharing in Mandriva 2006
This is absolutely crazy... other times I managed to configure Internet Connection Sharing in minutes, now it just doesn't want to work. Hell, I even posted a small tutorial here and it's of no use
I have a server, with 2 network cards, one connected to the ISP, the other to my PC through a crossover cable. Here are my settings:
Server card 1 - eth0: ISP settings ( the card with the ISP's cable )
Server card 2 - eth1, to PC: IP - 192.168.0.1
MASK - 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY - 0.0.0.0
DNS - empty
PC card ( Win XP ): IP - 192.168.0.2
MASK - 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY - 192.168.0.1
DNS - DNS given by ISP
followed by Share Connection...
I was baffled to see that eth1 gateway is automatically changed to eth0 gateway, no matter what gateway I try to put in for eth1 ( interface to PC ). Besides that, last times I installed Mandriva 2006 this was all I did and it worked great.
What is going on ???
