Geforce Go 7800
Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop with a Geforce Go 7800 graphics card. I am able to install and run Mandrake, but I only get display when I run the "Nvidia>>Geforce" graphics drivers. The Geforce 7 drivers don't work, nor do the Geforce 6 or Trio 64, which is what it defaults to for some reason. Under the Geforce drivers I am able to run in 1024 x 768 resolution with mediocre color. I can bear this, but only just, and am wondering if there is anything I can do to upgrade my drivers. NVidia and Dell do not have Linux drivers available for the Go 7 Series, and the other Geforce drivers for linux do not work. Any advice?
P.S. - I posted this exact same message on the Club Mandriva forums and am trying something suggested there right now, concerning the dkms-nvidia package.
