execute 'su -' in terminal/konsole to gain root privileges.
    Code:
    su -
    nano /boot/grub/menu.lst
you can use vi or kate instead of nano.

after using GRUB and kate command.

    i changed the root(hd0,0) to (hd0,5)

I then saved and restarted when i pressed windows i got this error

    root(hd0,5)

File System type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
    Make Active
    Error 12: Invalid device requested.

    Any Comments on this

    Hunter
I'm having real problems with Mandriva/Mandrake myself.
The package is not user friendly. I had to read two pages of why you should not be able to log into root before they even gave a clue as to how to do it. This was right on the Mandriva Club site
I'm moving on to a professionally written OS. I'm hoping Suse will be a little more complete. Not just a bunch of bits and pieces thrown into a pretty graphical box.

distro choice is a personal matter. all have pros n cons. try several and check which one is the best for you.
