Exclamation Madwifi - Can't make driver - No such file or directory

I am new to the forums and to Mandriva.

I freshly installed Mandriva 2007 Free onto my laptop this morning and have been unable to figure out how to make the madwif driver.

When I attempt a "make" command in the root directory of madwifi-, I receive the follow error.

    [root@localhost madwifi-]# make
/bin/sh: line 0: cd: /lib/modules/2.6.17-5mdv/build: No such file or directory *** /lib/modules/2.6.17-5mdv/build is missing, please set KERNELPATH. Stop.
When I navigate to the location that the KERNELPATH is pointing to, I only see this.

    [root@localhost /]# cd lib
    [root@localhost lib]# cd modules
    [root@localhost modules]# cd 2.
    2.6.17-5mdv/ 2.6.17-5mdvlegacy/
    [root@localhost modules]# cd 2.6.17-5mdv
    [root@localhost 2.6.17-5mdv]# ls
    kernel/ modules.dep modules.inputmap modules.pcimap modules.usbmap
    modules.alias modules.description modules.isapnpmap modules.seriomap
    modules.ccwmap modules.ieee1394map modules.ofmap modules.symbols
    [root@localhost 2.6.17-5mdv]#
What am I missing that is keeping this make from completing?

You probably just need to install the kernel-devel package.
If you have a working connection to your machine now, use your package manager to download madwifi.
I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
