X problems

i tried installing onto an hp dv6110 and everything goes well till it loads the x server and it just goes to a blank screen, its done it on every distro i try, but mandriva i can still use cmd line. any suggestions as how to fix it?

Hi anocweb,

Next time you reach, the command line interface, ($>prompt,) and is invited to login as root ( I Hope you have got this far) just type the following,

$ init 5

This might lead you to the next stage!!

Ill have to try that, it may have been a hardware problem though, it actually died (thank god for bestbuy performance service plans :P ) when it comes back to me, ill check if it wil just run, otherwise ill give that a try :P thanks
