nvidia doesn't work (surprise surprise)
new mandriva install... really frustrating this one as out of the box it seems to play video fast enough! But haven't got the nvidia applet, so can't configure twinview...
install log and xorg.conf as below...

http://bonj.ath.cx/xorg.conf
i installed kernel-source by urpmi kernel-source. Yes I did reboot in between installing kernel-source and (trying to) install nvidia.
any help m,uch appreciated

Did you download the drivers?
Boot into command line.
init 3
uname -r
urpmi dkms-nvidia
Then
XFdrake
Then do init 5 or startx
I am no Linux expert but this worked for me. I recently came from Ubuntu so I am getting used to Mandriva package managers, etc.

that didn't work - when I did the urpmi step it said 'package not recognized'. Have I got to add a repository in order for that to work?
If so how do I do that?
