Problem: when I go to the 3D graphics menu the XGL graphics tick box is un-tickable, if you know what i mean. I cannot select the XGL. Why? Is it my video card? About 3 days ago i went to 3D grphics and it was clickable so i clicked it but i still did not have the desktop cube or anything then the next day it was un-tickable again, and still is, so i guess it was just a glitch.
Please help me, one of the main reasons i got linux was for the graphics and now......

For XGL to work, you will the ATI proprietary drivers (called FGLRX). Unfortunately they are not installed by default in Mandriva 2007 Free edition.
As the name tells it, Mandriva free edition contains only free & open source software. If you want proprietary drivers installed by default, you will need to use a non-free version of Mandriva, such as Mandriva One 2007 (Gnome or KDE edition). Mandriva One is also free of charge.
If you want the same choice of packages in Mandriva Free, then you can add the missing non-free packages following the instructions provided here :
