    Nvidia & Binutils

    Help,

    I am very new to linux.
    I am using Mandriva One and I am trying to install the Nvidia drivers for my graphics card, but when i try to install i get 'Unable to find system utility 'ld' please maksure you have the package 'binutils' install. Then please check that 'ld' is in you path.

    I have download binutils 2.17, but i can't quite figure how to install it, so i can install the driver.

    Can anyone please give me some step by step instructions.

    What you need to do is add some software repositories for your installation of Mandriva 2007. Go to easyurpmi and follow the instructions to setup the main, contrib, plf and updates repos. After that, run the mandriva control center, go to the software installation section, search for binutils and select it for installation.
