    problem installing skype

    root@localhost charles]# rpm -ivh ///home/charles/Desktop/skype-1.3.0.53-1mdk.i586.rpm

    what do i need to install?

    Why wouldn't you use
    Code:
    urpmi ///home/charles/Desktop/skype-1.3.0.53-1mdk.i586.rpm
    instead. I think that should look and install the dependencies automatically...

    Another alternative would be to go http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ and go through the steps there. After this skype is in urpmi database so then you can install it just by

    i tried method 1 and it just hung there, without giving any errors.

    i have my urpmi database set up, but when i go urpmiskype it says package not found.
    this is anoying as i had skype working fine before i wiped my disk, now i can't get it to go

    this sort of thing always confusses me as a newbie, libqt-mt.so3 , i presume its part of a program, but which one? how do i know?
