    Question Accelerate booting time

I'm using mandriva spring and i was wondering if someone could tell me how i can customize it so that my computer boots faster (by "boot" i mean from the time i press the on button until i have a fully functioning gnome desktop).

People have told me that there tons of guides and howto's out there but i cannot find any (searching on google).

From what i can tell i think i have to disable some of the ........... (i have no idea of what to call them) so that mandriva will skip running them and it will boot faster.

    Any help?
It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.
