    lan internet connection


    hmm ok im using mandrake 9.2 yes i know tis a bit old but i had it laying around and all my other os's are busted cept for my restore disk for this pc but anyway

    my probelm is i cant get the internet connection running im new to linux so i have almost no clue what to do
    i ran the net wizzard but to no avail
    im running under cogeco on this computer and i a router upstairs making a network and it connects to 2 other computers
    btw the computer with linux has an ethernet card please some1 i could use a hand setting this up XD
    a step by step format would be apreciated ^_^

    i cant access my router on my linux pc ether btw

    i tired getting my internet to connect by using
    dhclient eth0
    in the konsole

    this is what happened in the console

    id just like to mention that when i had windows xp on the computer all i had to do was plug the ethernet cable into the ethernet card ive heard tahts all some ppl had to do wonder y it dosnt apply with me :'(
