Have opened up a terminal and typed in: ping 192.168.0.1 and this is the reply i got.

    [Colin@www ~]s ping 192.168.0.1
    connect: Network is unreachable

Now a mate of mine had earlier tried and failed to configure the router and has apparently typed in the wrong URL for my ISP. How do i get rid of that entry?
Could i reset the router back to factory settings?

Shall definately give your suggestion a go and thanks SeanGee
