Please Help Linux noob in trouble

Hi, I installed Mandrake Linux about a year ago and today I got an itch to work in it. When I started it up it ran fine, untill I went into a space explorer in the amusements menu. Then it locked up, now it will boot up like regular then it will not go into the graphical interface. Just it's "Dos" form. But it allows me to log in. The version is 8.2. Mandrake

The command you're looking for is:

    Code:
    startx
    And that should do it.
