I installed the wine-20040505-mdk1.i586.rpm,but when i want to open any software from windows:
wine /mnt/win_d/"programe files"/mIRC/mirc.exe
the error is:
wine: cannot open /root/.wine : No such file or directory
plz help me.

Hey,

Install WINE as ROOT user and run Wine SERVER as root.

now try running wine as NORMAL user. you'll GET IT WORKING

i had this problem, then i downloaded winetools.

Just google that should come up, its really useful for installing the various parts that software with windose needs.

The only problem i found with it is that unless you are root in mandrake 9.2 i cant seem to install stuff.

and i ran out of space on my root section.

So reformatting and starting again!
