windows cannot access my samba server
hi, i am pretty new to linux, i need to setup a linux server while the rest of the network is working on windows (xp), we are all setup on MDKGROUP, i searched google for countless hours on how to configure samba, but i didn't get it
we have tried many settings for the smb.conf
i am however not sure about xinetd i have read at many websites
same thing with swat, i'm not certain
i can see my samba server running on every computer under Network Neighboorhood, but i cannot log-in, as i do not have the 'rights'
if you guys could point me out, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Try webmin.
It's free and has Samba configuration modules.
Edit: also see this HOWTO, and the links in this thread
