Mandriva2007 hardware compatibility Q.
Hey all.
We'll soon upgrade a production server at the company where I work, and there are a couple of doubts floating in the air before deciding some stuff, regarding Hardware and OS.
What's the word on Mandriva 2007 Spring supporting:
- Two core-duo Intel Xeon processors.
- 3 disk - SAS/SATA RAID 1 , with controller PERC 5/i.
?
Thanks.

The two core-duo Xeon processors should work just fine, not sure about the SATA disks, check the kernel menuconfig

The thing is, that we don't have Mandriva 2007 spring installed yet, and we don't have the server either.
We do have a Mandriva2007 free running in a Pentium D with a single SATA disk, but that's not much help I guess.
The critical thing we need to know is if it would support the DeLL PERC 5/i RAID controller.

Apparently driver support exists for those controllers but you may need to edit the initrd so that it works at boot-time
