Download the thunderbird package from mozilla.com, extract it and click on the icon named thunderbird in the extracted directory. You need to make sure you have libsdtc++5 installed in order for thunderbird to work.

what is libsdtc++-5 where do I get this one and how could i install this on my computer running linux

try
for installing thunderbird on mandrivasu -c "urpmi mozilla-thunderbird"
or
urpmi thunderbirdlife is the greatest opportunity that the nature had given you

Its a library that is needed by some packages e.g. Firefox, RealPlayer, Adobe Reader etc. You install it by doing
