3D resolved - Finally
Hi,
What a mungrel distribution to work on.
Try the 96xx bundle not the new 97xx.
Get the kernel support etc for the 96 even the legacy support.
Set up the server for the other graphical card - reboot.
Finally get the nvidia splash screen and - what - its now using the 97xx drivers and the original FX Geforce 7950 card.
What a drama - no logic to this.
Regards
Bill

Congrats! It's very nice to see success stories instead of problems, problems, problems and more problems

Thanks Guys,
Initially after days of waiting the nvdia conrol centre appeared. It wouldn't start as it kept on asking for the x server.
start x and service xfs restart gave a black screen and no GUI.
Had to keep going into xorg.conf and resetting to NV.
so I gave it another reference card and different module in the x server vset up , rebooted and it returned with the nvidia splash screen and the original card and support modules it had selected - way back at the start- go figure.
3d support then said i could select a 3D desktop - and I haven't looked back.
I am greeted now with an nvidia splash at each start.
Best Regards
Bill
