boot from cd
I am running Mandrake at the moment on it's own hardrive seperate from Windows XP pro.
XP is on the primary HD. Some kind of way after I installed it I searched and found a way to remove the bootloader so that when I just start my computer you never see that there is Linux on the other HD. To boot to Linux I made a boot CD which has two file on it. Boot.catalog and Boot.img.
The image I think has the bootloader on it. Anyway,
My question is this. If I install the new Madriva One. I don't want to install a loader so I would skip that. Would my bootdisk still work? or do I have to figure it out all over again. I don't want to just try and get screwed.
Welcome to the forums! :)
No, it probably won't work unless the new Mandriva One uses the same kernel that you used in your previous installation. You'll probably need to make a new bootdisk for the new installation.
