cleaning junk files
I have a folder on my Desktop from a previous failed attempt at installing something and now I can't get rid of it. When I try to delete it I get the error message: " Access denied to /home/paul/.local/share/trash/files/g_1"
It's the g_1 folder I want to delete. Can someone help please?
Sounds like that file is owned by another user -- probably root. Use "ls -l" to figure out who owns it. You'll be able to delete anything when logged in as root, but be really REALLY careful when doing that. One typo when deleting stuff as root could really break your system.
Thanks mate - and good old rmdir command!
