Hey. Using mandrake 10.0.
I'm trying to setup an NIS master server. I can't set the domainname for some reason, so that means I can't setup the NIS master server also...
I've checked out lots of files, but I can't find where to set the domainname so that when my computer boots, it will have it's domainname.
Would another distribution just be easier to work with, with NIS?
I think that gentoo is a better distro, but no worries, for the domain name, just type
echo networkname > /etc/dnsdomainname
suse also has yast and you can configure nis services easily with gui support.i suggest moving to suse 9.1
