HELP - can't initialize eth0!

I'm installing Mandriva for the first time. The verbose boot log says my ethernet card has an "unexpected mac address".

Is this a firewall problem? I installed with firewall and web/mail servers.

I am trying to give the card a static ip of 192.168.0.13 and use DHCP for my PPOE connection.

Also, I see the sit0 device -- what is it?

disabling SIT 0

put

NETWORKING_IPV6=no

on /etc/sysconfig/network

the restart network services
