installing Mandriva 2009

i downloaded 2009 and tried to upgrade spring 2008. all goes well except it boots to a terminal only. asks for me to log in and then just sits there. how do i get to x and kde4.1 please help bower

Does it go straight to the console or does it flicker as in trying to start the Xserver/kde?

I do know there are some issues in upgrading with 2009 though!

it loads up bash shell has me log into the terminal it just goes to a black screen with the curser blinking in the top left corner

Press Ctrl + Alt + F1

You should be back on the login prompt

Login and then try
