I installed mandrake 9.1 and when it boots up' I get a command screen where it wants me to log on,after I log on its looking for a command and I don't know what to do,I'm newer than a newbie, and I'm sure I'm bitting off more than I can chew,but I been wanting to do this for sometime now and I'm jumping in feet first, in the mean time I plan on doing alot of reading so any help will be greatly appreciated,thank you in advance
After you login at the command line, type
You will need this info
Monitor, vertical and horizontal refresh rates, these can be found on the back of your monitor.
Video card, what brand and model is it, how much memory is on it.
Keyboard, as long as you know what kinf it is you can select it from the list.
Mouse, same as the keyboard.
After you go through that wizard, type "startx" that will get you into the gui.

P.S. You should consider upgrading to 10.1 official.
