Mandrakeonline Applet in System Tray
Hi. I am posting this for the benefit of anyone searching for the folllowing.
Mandrakeonline is a service by Mandrake that notifies one if there are software updates, etc.
There is an applet that sits in the KDE system tray. A green circle with a checkmark in it means that everything is fine. Both an orange circle with an exclamation point in it, and a red circle with an "X" in it signify trouble of some sort.
One can right click the icon and tell the mandrakeonline applet to "quit."
In order to get is started again, you need to type one of the following two commands into a terminal window. (Make sure you are logged in as root).
mdkapplet --force &
mdkapplet -f &
