Switching Desktop Managers

OK, I'm not sure if this can be done or not, so that's why I'm asking.

Say I'm running GNOME as my desktop manager, and in the middle of a session, I suddenly want to run ICEwm as a desktop manager instead. Is there some way of doing this without having to logout and then log back in after switching desktop options?

Bonus question: Using the X display manager (instead of the Mandrake display manager) when I go to login there is no desktop type option list. So is there some way I can get those options to show up without having to switch back to the MDM?

As far as I know, you must restart X in order to use a new WM. So no, there is no way to do it.


And to answer the second question, I dunno.
