TFT screens OK? - Help I'm new here
OK, so I had an old PIII machine that was going to be junked. So I thought I would look at Linux, Mandrake 10.
I liked what I saw and thought I would bring the Linux machine into play. However, when I plugged it into my 17" TFT monitor it went through all the text based boot sequence OK and then got to the graphical log in screen.
On the old CRT monitor it clearly changed screen modes as the monitor blanked and clicked and the image reformed.
The TFT screen just blanks and then I get a message from the monitor 'input mode not supported'.
Does the log in screen work in a particular mode? Or can that be changed? Obviously I will have to put the CRT back on to make any changes but I just don't have room for that at home.
Can it be made to work on TFT or am I going to have to ditch Linux because I don't have room for a CRT?
