Firefox 2.0

I have Mepis 6.0 with Firefox 1.5. I have tried to upgrade to Firefox 2.0 with an Alien conversion (Slackware tar.gz) Then Firefox won't open although the Synaptic shows it as installed as 2.0. When I remove the 2.0 Firefox and reinstall 1.5 everything works.

I was wanting to add some features to Firefox that require 2.0 and later.

I appreciate the help,

Thank you

When I update Firefox, I select(identify) the correct version of Mepis that I have. Then it updates automatically. Now I have Firefox 2.0.0.8
It would probably install a new Firefox too the same way as you are coming from version 1.5
Good luck. joe

Hello.

You need the Linux version of Firefox.

If you download it, it will simply overwrite your previous version.

Kind regards

Alexander
