Hi im completely new to linux and mepis itself. Whilst i do prefer it to other OS, im having difficulties installing the driver for my USB wireless card. Its a Thomson Speedtouch USB device, does anyone have any help they could offer?

You have to find out what chipset the wireless card uses. You can do this by starting a terminal (kmenu -> system -> terminal -> terminal) and entering the command

/sbin/lspci | grep -i net

Post back the output.

You might get it by just entering lspci and looking for a line similar to this

02:02.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03)

(all after 'controller:'is my card)

With the device plugged in, try:

lsusb -v

Look through and see if you can find the section about your wireless device. If possible, post it here. Also. is there any other info on the device itself? Like model and version number? That will help determine what chipset you have. Then we can find the best solution to get you going.
