Linux Mint and GeForce FX5500 issue
Hi,
I'm a new to Linux, i recently installed Linux Mint 7 (AKA Gloria) on my desktop machine running and running a GeForce FX500 PCI card. I have installed GeForce's proprietary Drivers however it does not give me the option to select the screen resolution of 1204 X 768, only resolutions below that.
Would appreciate any feedback on this issue,
David

Are you using the nvidia configuration program to set the resolution?
Press ALT+F2, and type gksudo nvidia-settings to launch the GUI configuration tool. You need to use gksudo for root privileges to be able to save the settings.

Hi
I have used nvidea's control panel settings to and adjust the screen resolution however it does not give me the option to choose anything about below 800x600 which looks too close up on my LCD screen.
Is there a way to force my graphics card to 1024x768 in the terminal?
I have tried editing the x.org conf file to force it to screen size 1024x768 but it does not make a difference.
Any suggestions?
