I installed Linux Mint 8 on my external hard drive. I unplugged my internal to keep from formatting the wrong disk. After Linux was up and running, I installed some program packages and shut the computer down. I plugged my internal back in and cut off my external, but when it booted it said grub rescue> . When i cut my external on, it is set to almost like a dual boot. I don't want a dual boot. Can anyone tell me how to reconfigure my grub.conf file so that it will boot normally to Windows and only boot to Linux when i want it to?
