You do it that same way you'd install a .BIN file in any other distribution of Linux. The command-line is generally identical. Here's a thread on it.

Try this:

sudo full-path-of-package.bin

Enter root password and hope for the best.

Small nitpick: if you're using sudo, you would enter your regular user's password, not root. Also, I generally recommend running binaries through a utility like SH.

What .bin file are you trying to install? Please note that installation files from Mint's own repository are in .bin format but will self-install when double-clicked, but this applies only to the full version of the O.S. and not the stripped-down version shipped with PC magaines.
