Mint is Ubuntu based OS and your problems might not get sorted on switching to Ubuntu.
What problems are you having with Ubuntu OS?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I'm having some weird brightness setting problem. The settings are all out of order and it doesn't even have all of the settings. I can't even get it to be full brightness. The brightest setting is somewhere in the middle of the brightness.
