    Update error message

I need more help since I can not get the update or software manager to work even after using the terminal. I am new to Mint (XFCE) and only used Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.10 prior so I don't know what I am doing and think I broke something when downloading games from software manager?[

Which release of Linux Mint are you using?
What were you downloading? What happened? Error messages? Hard to diagnose anything with the information you have given.

    Update manager will not update

    Hello
    Thanks for the responce.

I am currently running Linux Mint Xfce edition. I am trying to use the update manager and I am getting the folowing message" could not refresh the list of packages"

I used the info in your prior post using the terminal to update because I receive the same message "about something being broke and needed to be fixed"

I hope I have suppled enough info if not I will just reinstall Mint Xfce.

    Thanx

I get the same message with LMDE (XFCE) using the new update manager. It normally goes away after a few minutes; I think the servers are busy when it happens. If it keeps happening, post the results of running the following command:
    Code:
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
