No Terminal Icon on Cinnamon Desktop

I have a strange desktop on my HP Laptop, at least to me it is. Applications and Places are on the top Left with network time etc. on the right top. On bottom where time network etc. normally is are 4 boxes, that when highlighted say "Workplace 1,2,3,4." This isn't the same desktop that I have on my Dell Desktop computer. Everything is on the bottom and the terminal icom is on the desktop. Anybody got any ideas how to fix this?

It sounds like you have the "classic layout" enabled. You should be able to change that to the "traditional layout" using the Cinnamon settings applet. You may have to restart Cinnamon for the new layout to take effect.

    Time machines!

    When do we want 'em?
    Doesn't really matter does it!?
