    Creating Xorg.conf

    My tv is not recognized by the Mint 13 Maya. I have a custom EDID file.
    I need to create the Xorg.conf to edit it and add my custom EDID. I managed to do that before with the Ubunto 12.01

    In the tty mode, as an su, I ran the the X -configure commad. I got an error at the end

    This is what i got:

    using config file: "/root/Xorg.conf.new"
    using system config directory "usr/share/x11/Xorg.config.d"
    [KMS] no DRICreatePCIBUSID, symbol, No Kernel modesetting
    Number of created screens doesnot match number of detected devices.
    Configuration failed
    ddxSigGiverup: Close log
    Server terminated with error (2).
    Closing log.file

    I am a newbie, and i have no idea what is that means or how to fix it.

    your help is appricated.

    Thanks

    Well I'm not sure I can answer your problem, but at least I can bump the thread. Did you try looking at /root/xorg.conf.new? Did that create anything? Also if you are using the proprietary nvidia drivers, there is a handy utility called nvidia-xconfig which usually creates a good xorg.conf
