problems booting linux mint 14 from DVD

    hello linux forum,

first of all: i'm new i hope you can help me because i have a problem: i downloaded the ISO of linux mint 14 MATE on my computer. there are a few things bugging me: i cant actually see the .iso file in the list of downloaded items (just a .exe file which doesn't install windows in any way). that's why i burned all the files on my DVD (knowing i couldn't actually see an .iso file) but when i change the boot order in BIOS so my DVD device boots first my computer just starts booting normally.. ive also tried putting the .exe file on my (C: )drive and installing it from there but also nothing happens.. can someone help me with this?

    .exe file
    Did the download come from

Linux Mint 14 Release Notes - Linux Mint

    but using

    Mint4win

When installing Linux Mint with mint4win, choose loop0 for both the target partition and the grub destination.

How to install Ubuntu/Linux Mint upon Windows using Wubi/Mint4Win?

Disclaimer: I have no experience running Mint, wubi,or mint4win.

Good luck and Happy Trails, Rok
