    Install + Execute .sh file

I have downloaded from my local finance office a tax return form which is in .sh format.
I have tried all the methods suggested on various forums to get this to run, but it won't. The file is " DAv2006-Linux.sh "
I can get it displayed on my desktop, but I cannot open or execute.
Last year I submitted this with no problem using Windows, I have to file my return by the end of April so the pressure is on.

What is the output of following command?
    Code:
    sh DAv2006-Linux.sh
Post exact error message here, if any.

Thanks for this , Message simply says " Starting Installer " then the process of installation from the Finances site begins " Once installed - here is the problem - it won't run.

If there wasn't any error, it means install script has installed some package successfully. Have you checked Menu for any new package entry?
Open install script in text editor and check if you can find package name in it.

Hi - thank's again - I have pasted four files that appear on my desktop -
    /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dir - /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dirDeclaraçõesElectrónicasDeclaraçã oAnual -

    /home/mike/Desktop/Declaração Anual.desktop - /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh

I should also say that I have tried everything in the link:- ://askubuntu.com/questions/122428/how-to-run-sh-file

When I open properties on the 10135 Directory file I get the following :
    -/home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dirDeclaraçõesElectrónicasDeclaraçã oAnual/da
    /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dirDeclaraçõesElectrónicasDeclaraçã oAnual/da.desktop
    /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dirDeclaraçõesElectrónicasDeclaraçã oAnual/dav2006.jar
    /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dirDeclaraçõesElectrónicasDeclaraçã oAnual/plastic-1.2.0.jar
    /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dirDeclaraçõesElectrónicasDeclaraçã oAnual/uninstall

What happens if you double click on /home/mike/Desktop/DAv2006-Linux.sh.10135.dirDeclaraçõesElectrónicasDeclaraçã oAnual/da.desktop?
