    My Mint 15 crashed

I had to reload it and I don't want to be stuck this way again, So I'll tell you what happened and maybe someone can tell me how to fix it or tell me what to do so it won't happen again. It goes to the sign up and password screens, then it goes to the beginning of the desktop, loads a few things then go's black ,the hard drive churns for a few minutes , then I get a "hplip status service sign saying " no system tray detected on this system, unable to start , exiting" So I push OK it crashes to a black screen , still having the curser . Any thoughts????? I see the hp in this error sign , do you think then that it has something to do with my HP printer, if so thats waky crashing the whole system because of my printer.
