    Backup on thumb drive


    Is there a program to backup my system (everything)weekly on a bootable thumb drive. I want it so if my opperating systemm crashes I can just boot it off the thumb drive,

    There are a number of ways to do this including a simple one-line command which you could then put in a bash script, make it executable and run it. An example is in the link below and should work on any Linux system. I'd read through the whole thing as it has a pretty thorough explanation of what it does. If you want to run it on a regular basis, weekly, monthly you can make an entry in cron to do that.
