    For root-mode GUI-based root file management, I use Krusader. It installs with both an icon for basic mode and another for root mode. It's been ages since I installed it, so I don't remember if I did so in the repositories or the command line. I don't use it as much as Dolphin, but it's nice to have around as an option.
