In /dev/snd after plugging in it added controlC2 and pcmC2D0p. In /dev/snd/by-id, it added usb-Tascam_us-122_MKII_no_serial_number-00. In /dev/snd/by-path, it added pci-0000:00:02.1-usb-0:2:1:0
    Does this help?

I think pcm is your sound device. Have you tried to use it? Long thread, are you using PulseAudio? Does this device show up in alsamixer? Anything interesting in dmesg when you plug it in (like firmware loading - but I asked this before)?

There is no meaningful contents in this file. Why don't you use some pastebin utility. Actually, alsa-info.sh will upload it for you. Like this.

This post is for Segfault or anyone else familiar with drivers and modules in the kernel. Doing some searching on the net
I found this site: cateee.net/lkddb/weblkddb which lists the driver for the Tascam US-122mkII as snd_usb_us122l.
There also is a driver snd_usb_usx2y. This driver wont work with my card because the usb and vendor ids are different.

So here is what I think is wrong, I am no expert on coding or compiling.

    Code:
    prs-player@prsplayer-Mint-18 ~ $ modinfo snd_usb_us122l
    filename: /lib/modules/4.4.0-64-generic/kernel/sound/usb/usx2y/snd-usb-us122l.ko
    license: GPL
    description: TASCAM US-122L Version 0.5

    intree: Y
    vermagic: 4.4.0-64-generic SMP mod_unload modversions
parm: index:Index value for US-122L. (array of int)
parm: id:ID string for US-122L. (array of charp)
parm: enable:Enable US-122L. (array of bool)
    Code:
    prs-player@prsplayer-Mint-18 ~ $ modinfo snd_usb_usx2y
    filename: /lib/modules/4.4.0-64-generic/kernel/sound/usb/usx2y/snd-usb-usx2y.ko
    license: GPL

    depends: snd-usbmidi-lib,snd-pcm,snd,snd-hwdep
    intree: Y
    vermagic: 4.4.0-64-generic SMP mod_unload modversions

parm: index:Index value for US-X2Y. (array of int)
parm: id:ID string for US-X2Y. (array of charp)
parm: enable:Enable US-X2Y. (array of bool)
Because the card does not work on input, output works, the us-122l module is not using snd_pcm which snd_usb_usx2y
does use. See the depends string above. FYI, Vendor ID is 0644, Product ID is 8021.

I dont have module usb_stream in my kernel. There is a reference to it in the driver. ( I think ). Thats all I got. Ideas anyone?
