I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 with Mint KDE, built in bluetooth, I also have an HP bluetooth mouse that came with the system. But its not detecting the mouse, it stops at Pin Validation, with a message
"If your device has a way to introduce the pin, if not just wait a moment."
its been way more then a moment....
And I did press the button..
I have a HP (elitebook) and bluetooth mouth working fine
1. make sure you have all bluetooth relevant tools installed
2. as far as I remember, using bluetooth manager to detect device
the detection should show your bt mouse as "type mouse"
and thus there is NO PIN exchange
then you may have to "trust" your mouse first before connection is possible in KDE.
it also helps to reset the bt mouse (switch OFF/ON or remove batteries if no switch) to properly reset your bt HW
it also is good idea to switch OFF and ON your bt on your HP
make sure your bt mouse has enough battery power, when low bat then behavior erratic
the very first time connecting bt mouse (and some other bt devices) is sometimes a little messy, once the pairing and trust is successful, it runs perfectly.
if however I use my ONE mouse on Linux and then reboot on win, use my bt mouse on win and then back to linux, the mouse behaves like a wife after a sidestep !!
no idea if the mouse itself has a digital switch or memory built in and set (EPROM, PROM, or similar)
You may try to use the gnome-bluetooth
or bluedevil
or blueman-applet
all these 3 do approx the very same, detect, pair/trust, connect
I have all installed on this HP and all earlier laptops because usually only one of them worked out of the box. as far as I remember there is NO install conflict when all are installed side by side.
asking for PIN with mouse definitely is a funny (or more likely WRONG) behavior I never encountered all past 6 or so yrs using my first bt mouse on various laptops. when scanning for new bt devices, the graphical output on the GUI clearly shows a mouse (plus "type mouse").

New question.... When I enabled that, my temp jumped from 125F to 170F fans flying too? Why would this happen?
that most likely has nothing to do with bluetooth at all
most likely bt uses a different chip of its own
but the temp may be short time up every time you use CPU for configuration settings load/save/activate
just watch temp and all other processes for a while
make sure your laptop NEVER is on bed or soft surface
but always CLEAR for free ventilation UNDER laptop
also
MY HP has a fine mesh UNDER the CPU to cover the ventilation inflow
that mesh gets blocked by regular dust - even indoors, every few days
thus resulting your overall temp to go UP

I will look for a break down of my laptop and blow out the dust. I am sure its full, My desktops get a lot of attention.
in my HP the protecting mesh is outside - bottom section
hence I only need to turn laptop upside down and BLOW (human built in blower) every few days depending on my location (island or city).
