using old software
I have Linux Mint, and like it very much, but I am having problems running some of my old software. I guess this is to be expected as it was for windows (software like Command and Conquer, Starcraft, etc.). Is there a way around this, or would i have to have windows installed on my computer as well to use them? Thank you for any help.
I am just guessing but I think if you are really into games, you can consider the option of double-booting your machine. Windows and linux side-by-side.
Im not into gaming, but as I understand it, some of the windows games will play through WINE. Other than that, windows code and linux code speak different languages, so to speak. Linux can not read what windows is trying to tell it to do, and windows can't read what a linux porgram tells it to do. Try WINE, or dual boot if you want to play windows games.
